Kalden Tsomo, of the Office of Tibet, spoke at the event and extended his gratitude to the Anna Göldi Museum for hosting the Tibet exhibition as part of its special segment. Kalden Tsomo, quoting His Holiness the Dalai Lama, noted that supporting Tibetans is not just about being pro-Tibet, but also about standing up for human rights, justice, and freedom. She went on to explain how the situation in Tibet has deteriorated as a result of Beijing’s unsettling and aggressive drive to push pro-China narratives with an influx of propaganda. In light of this, Kalden Tsomo believes that channels for “sharing the true story of Tibet” are more important than ever. She also expressed gratitude to Swiss MPs for standing by Tibet throughout these trying years and urged them to continue to pay attention to and assist Tibet.

Thomas Büchli, President of the Swiss-Tibetan Friendship Association, and Lodup Changten, a Tibetan community representative in Glarus, commended the Anna Göldi Museum for hosting the Tibet exhibition and members of the parliament for visiting the exhibition site.

Similarly, Swiss-Parliamentarian and member of the Swiss parliamentary group for Tibet Hon’ble Maya Graf had already attended the Tibet exhibition. The Museum also organized a cultural event and interactive session with photographers Manuel Bauer and Sasi Subramaniam on another occasion. Mario Fehr, a Zurich government councilor, presided over the occasion.

From April 1 through August 22, 2021, the Anna Göldi Museum will feature a special section exhibition on Tibet. The Anna Göldi Museum was established in 2007 to promote human rights and freedom in honor of Anna Göldi, a Swiss lady who was arrested, tortured, and killed in Glarus, Switzerland, in the 18th century. In addition to the permanent display, the Museum offers a variety of special exhibitions related to freedom and human rights.
