Dharamshala, 10th August: Last week, Himachal Pradesh reported a Covid 19 positive rate of 1.9 percent. From August 2 to August 8, a total of 88887 people were tested for Covid-19 in the state, with 1726 people being determined to be Covid positive. During this time, 13 people in the state have died as a result of the coronavirus. According to officials from the state’s health department, a spike of corona positive cases has been seen in the state, which is concerning and warrants caution. As of Sunday, the number of Covid-19 positive cases in the state totaled 1962.
According to a government spokeswoman, 9089 persons were tested in Bilaspur district last week, with 84 people testing positive, for a positivity percentage of 0.9 percent. A total of 12071 persons were tested in the Chamba district, with 394 people testing positive, for a positivity rate of 3.3 percent. In the Hamirpur district, a total of 9886 persons were tested for Covid, with 148 people testing positive, resulting in a 1.5 percent positivity rate.
In Kangra, a total of 14061 people were tested for Covid, with 213 finding positive and a positivity rate of 1.5 percent; in Kinnaur, a total of 1550 people were tested for Covid, with 13 finding positive and a positivity rate of 0.8 percent.
In the Kullu area, a total of 4044 persons were tested for Covid, with 87 of them testing positive, yielding a positivity rate of 2.2 percent. A total of 776 people were tested for Covid in the Lahaul-Spiti district, with 27 people testing positive, yielding a positivity rate of 3.5 percent. In the Mandi district, a total of 5826 persons were tested for Covid, with 445 of them testing positive, yielding a positivity rate of 7.6%. In Shimla, a total of 8399 persons were tested for Covid, with 233 people testing positive, yielding a positivity rate of 2.8 percent.
Total 8793 people were tested for Covid in Sirmaur district, with 15 people finding positive and a positivity rate of 0.2 percent; a total of 6989 people was tested in Solan district, with 26 people finding positive and a positivity rate of 0.4 percent; and a total of 7403 people were tested for Covid in Una district, with 41 people finding positive and a positivity rate of 0.4 percent.
Officials stated that the rise of Corona cases in the state is cause for alarm and that precautions should be taken. They stated that strong adherence to Covid compliance behavior should be required in order to avert a probable third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
