A Tibetan woman has bagged silver medal for Tibet at the 1st International Yoga Olympic. In the first ever International Yoga Olympic, there has been different categories of event wherein the Yeshi Wangmo secured second in one of the categories. The event saw participation from people across sixty countries and there are over 8 yoga Olympic categories.
Yeshi Wangmo is a nurse based in Dublin, Ireland. Besides working as a nurse, she is also teaches Yoga. During the first International Yoga Olympic held online on 1st August this year, she won the second place and Silver Medal in the Yoga Flow Women category. The best part is that she has represented Tibet and her representation bears the Tibetan national flag.
Ireland Tibetan Association also shared the wonderful news on its social media handle. The association expressed its pride in sharing the wonderful news, congratulating her on the great achievement representative Tibet.
“We Tibetan community in Ireland are proud to share a wonderful news. A Registered Nurse and Yoga Teacher, Yeshi Wangmo la, from Dublin, Ireland. Everything, That Yeshi has experienced informs who she is and how she shows up in the world. Just to name a few-making the dangerous journey through the arduous Himalayas as a nine year old without parents to pursue an education at a Tibetan refugee school in Dharamsala, Under guidance of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s. Now, taking care of Covid patients in Ireland and staying positive around her patients by saying Tibetan prayers. We hearty congratulations on your great achievement and representing Tibet and its culture. We wish you more success in your future.” said the post on Monday.
There has been a total of 1350 participants representing 60 different nations. These participants contested in 8 different categories of the event and 99 players received medals. Yeshi Wangmo is one of the medal recipients and their yoga videos can be viewed on Youtube.
