Upper TCV School Resumes Annual Spring Fete After Two Years

Dharamshala, 18th April: After a two-year hiatus, Upper TCV School hosted its Annual Spring Fete on April 16, 2022. Due to the outbreak of the Corona Virus in 2020, the school’s annual spring fete was postponed for two years. Most schools hold at least one fete each year to raise funds for the school. Lockdown was imposed on all Indian schools due to the Chinese Corona Virus, popularly known as the Covid-19, and Upper TCV was no exception. The lockout forced the majority of students to return home, with all courses being held online and ‘classwork’ becoming a home assignment. As a result, the school’s annual feast was canceled for two years.

As the virus’s spread has been contained to some extent, and everyday incidences of the infection have decreased, the government has relaxed the lockdown as things have returned to normal. Upper TCV began recalling all of its students in order to resume normal operations. The classes and regular activities continued as before. The spring festival drew a large crowd who came to enjoy the refreshments, meals, and fun activities and games. Due to the lockdown, the public and students were confined to their houses, necessitating this fete. This festival brought the community together, and people of all ages were able to enjoy the fun, food, and festivities.

It’s one of the most anticipated days of the year, not just for students who get to freely socialize with their peers, but also for adults. The school games committee, as is customary, organizes the one-day fund-raising event. The funds earned on the day will be set aside to cover all of the school’s sports equipment and activity expenses.

The day started at 9 a.m. on the basketball court, where all of the stalls had been put up, covering every nook and cranny. The food and drink kiosks were run by house masters who had meticulously prepared everything ahead of time. Other stalls represented all sectors of the school, including senior, junior, office staff, home mothers, and the students’ council. In fact, every department contributed to this fund-raising program, leaving no stone untouched. A large number of pupils volunteered to help the professors in charge of the successful sale and environmental cleanup.

Young children preferred Micky Mouse Bouncy and Trampoline among the various vendors, while older children flocked to the kiosks with cash-winning games and food concessions. Because this yearly fete is also a fund-raising event, a large number of individuals, including students’ parents, relatives, and friends, showed up to lend moral support. The weather cooperated with the gala event, with the exception of a small shower late in the afternoon. At 4 p.m., the popular fun game Tombola began, and the entire crowd was drawn to Dekyi Tsering hall, where the game was held. The Tambola game, which lasted until 8 p.m., was played by everyone, regardless of age or gender. . The winners of different lucky drawings and lotteries were announced in between Tambola games. Students from the tea and food stalls brought their wares inside the hall.
