The Chinese agent Charlie Peng nabbed by the IT department in New Delhi has two associates from Himachal Pradesh. A breaking report from one of the leading agencies explains two persons associated with Charlie have been identified from the state. The central and state investigating agencies are jointly probing the matter now.
Charlie Peng is a 42 years old Chinese national involved in a multi-crore hawala racket was arrested by the IT Department in New Delhi recently. The same is found to have been spying on Tibetan spiritual His Holiness the Dalai Lama and have made trips to Dharamshala too. Primary investigations revealed his efforts infiltrate into the core group of the spiritual leader.
Latest report from Times of India has informed that two associates, one of whom is a Chinese national woman, has been identified from the state of Himachal Pradesh. They have been found to be living in Chauntra and Bir. Both of the suspects despite living on a standard income have been actively travelling abroad, claims the report.
“Two associates of Chinese national Charlie Peng whose hawala racket was busted by Income Tax department in Department in Delhi recently, have been identified in Chauntra in Mandi district and Bir in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.” said the report by Times of India on Tuesday.
The report added that according to highly placed sources in police department, two associates of Charlie Peng have been identified as Sonam Wangdu from Chauntra and Len Hu from Bir. It has been found prima facie that both were having lot of foreign travels despite low income and had huge bank transactions.
Following the arrest of the Chinese spy in New Delhi, concerns over His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s security started pouring out. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has informed the media that the spiritual leader’s security is an important matter of the state and there are no compromise or relaxation in that matter. Director General of Police too informed that the spiritual leader’s security official have been out on high alert.
