Tibetans protested all over the world on National Uprising Day

Dharamshala, 11th March: On March 10, 2022, Tibetans all around the world commemorate the 63rd National Uprising Day. Thousands of Tibetans spontaneously marched in the streets of Lhasa, Tibet’s capital, on March 10, 1959, to oppose the Chinese invasion and occupation marking the beginning of the event.

London

According to webindia123, A series of events were held in London to commemorate the Tibetan National Uprising Day. Protesters held a flag-raising ceremony at Town Hall in Woolwich Royal Borough of Greenwich. The website claims that the Tibetans protested at several locations in London, including the Chinese Embassy, on the 63rd anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day, raising their voices against China’s illegal occupation of Tibet. Protesters held posters that read, among other things, “Tibet is not a part of China,” “Tibetans demand freedom,” and “China stole my land but not my voice, Free Tibet.”

A demonstration took place at 10 Downing Street, White Hall, London, at the same time. The Tibetan concerns were discussed by Tim Loughon MP, Chris Law MP, Kerry McCarthy MP, Sam Walton (CEO Free Tibet), and Druktar (former Students for a Free Tibet (SFT) Director). Protesters then marched towards the Chinese Embassy.

Italy

ANI reported that on March 10, a huge number of Tibetans demonstrated outside the Chinese Consulate General in Milan, Italy, to commemorate Tibet Uprising Day. The demonstration, which drew about 50 people, was led by Claudio Cardelli, President of the Italy Tibet Association, and Tzeten Longoni, President of the Tibetan community in Italy. They chanted anti-China slogans and referred to a Tibetan national Norbu’s recent self-immolation in Lhasa.

Luciano Nobili, a Member of Parliament (Italia Viva) and President of the Intra-group Parliamentary Group on Tibet in the Italian Parliament expressed solidarity with Tibetans and predicted that Tibetans will regain their rights in the future.

Utah

According to Deseret News, During a protest in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Tibetans in Utah marked the 63rd anniversary of the 1959 uprising against Chinese government forces occupying Tibet.

Nepal

People in Nepal organized a protest march against Chinese crimes in Tibet on March 10 to commemorate Tibet Uprising Day, according to webindia123.
