Many Tibetans carrying banners demanded seven points to Kashag and TPiE via a settlement officer on the 11th of May at 9 a.m. in Nepal’s Boudha and Jorpati region. They requested that three TSJC judges who had recently been removed from their positions be reinstated to their previous positions. When covid is slowly spreading people cannot gather so representatives such as Chemi Dorjee and delegates of different associations came. Their aim in coming here is to request that the three previously dismissed judges be reinstated to their positions, as we currently lack a judge to administer the oath to the incoming Sikyong and TPiE members.
Karma Choedon, 69, said she came here to appeal even though Covid-19 is spreading rapidly, which is alarming because she was disheartened and concerned by the way some CTA supreme officials worked. Please do not destroy H.H. the Dalai Lama’s beneficence; we have been able to survive in exile because of his assistance, whether it is religious or political/administrative, and be conscious of his beneficence. This issue should be taken into consideration in order to reinstate the three judges who were stripped from their posts. We appeal to the three judges to accept the offer. That is our public desire.
Similarly, someone named Atse came here today to recommend that Kashag and TPiE take the people’s suggestions into consideration and said he didn’t come here to protest. If the desired outcome is not reached, the possibility of appearing in front of the CTA’s office would be weighed.
Tsipri Lopen Tulku Ngawang Chokdup, the settlement officer, said that he will deliver the application to CTA immediately from the delegates of people who came here to request voluntarily. He promised to explain to the public whatever the command in response is. Tibetans in Nepal have expressed their strong desire for Sikyong and members of the 16th parliament to reinstate the three deposed judges to their esteemed positions and to allow the public to speak freely. The TPiE’s resolution no. 35 should be recalled, and no activity should be undertaken that would displease His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
