Tibetan teacher wins Sing! China reality show in Beijing as announced during the finale episode of the second season of the TV reality show on Sunday at the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing. A Tibetan mathematics teacher from Shigatse, Tibet was announced as the winner of the Chinese singing reality show, Sing! China after a rigorous competition for more than four months.
On 8 October, 2017, Tashi Phuntsok of Team Liu Huan (coach) was announced as the winner of the season, with Doris Guo of Team Na Ying as runner-up. Joanna Dong of Team Jay finished in third place, while Team Eason’s Ye Xiaoyue and Xiao Kaiye finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.
Before the main event of the New Chinese song season 2 began, the four judges Jay Chou, Na Ying, Eason Chan and Liu Huan selected top 43 artists to contest for the title. The Blind Audition was the preliminary round where each judge selected at least 9 artists to form their team. Tashi was chosen by three of four coaches and finally came into coach Liu Huan’s team.
He is the finalist of the 10 artists participating in the show from Tibet. According a recent interview, Tashi Phuntsok has said that he is proud to have represented Tibet in this Singing reality show at Beijing. He also confessed that he had some pressure during the competition as a lot of Tibetans had laid their hopes on him.
Interestingly, Tashi had mostly sung Tibetan songs and judges and audiences highly appreciated his pure Tibetan behavior alike. The second season of Chinese reality talent show Sing! China was premiered on 14 July 2017 and concluded on 08 October 2017 with Tibetan teacher winning the reality show at the Beijing’s Bird Nest Stadium.
