A Tibetan doctor based in the Pune city of India has reported that their traditional medicines has been effective in treating COVID-19 symptoms. During an interview by the Tibet TV of Central Tibetan Administration recently informed that he has been successful in treating symptomatic COVID-19 patients. Through the span of eight months since the beginning of pandemic, he has treated around a thousand patients related to Coronavirus.
In a program of the Tibet TV, it discusses with traditional Tibetan medical doctors across the world on how they are approaching the pandemic and its efficiency. According to the Pune based Dr. Passang, he started prescribing Tibetan medicines to the symptomatic COVID-19 patients. His treatment methods has resulted in a significant relief from pain/aches within one day of consuming herbal pills and a significant return of appetite from day two.
Dr. Passang explains during the interview that there has been almost a thousand patients relating to Coronavirus under his supervision. While around six hundred of them were asymptomatic, almost four hundred of them were symptomatic and they were reported to have shown effective results from Tibetan medicines. Especially, there were two Tibetans working in Pune city who contracted the virus and recovered relatively quicker with the help of Tibetan medicine.
Dr. Passang is a highly experienced Tibetan medical doctor with expertise in acupuncture therapy. While he travels extensively across the world conducting treatments and teachings, he is basically based in Pune, India. His expertise is a well known attraction of the Indian city and even celebrities from Bollywood in Mumbai come to consult him.
Director of Men Tsee Khang Mr. Tashi Tsering in the recent report by Times of India has stated that according to their findings, tradition Tibetan medicine is not only helpful in prevention but also in treating people suffering from COVID-19. The director has also stated that the apex administrative authority of Tibetan medicine has sought permission to use their medicine for treating COVID-19 patients.
With no proven cure or an approved vaccine against the Chinese origin infection, the success of Tibetan medicine could be a huge milestone. India is set to lead the world as the worst affected country according to the current trend in the surge of cases where almost a hundred thousand cases of infections are being reported daily.
