The Tibetan Homes School has topped the CBSE class 12 exams in Mussoorie region in India. Following the announcement of CBSE class 12 results, students from the Tibetan school surprised the entire Tibetan diaspora with excellent results. The school topper is also the topper among all the students from schools in the region of Mussoorie.
As published earlier, there are 19 Tibetan students who secured above 95% marks in the important board exams this year. The special focus now goes to the fact that 15 of the 19 students are from the Tibetan Homes School in Mussoorie. With an impressive 100% pass percentage of the school, Kunga Legjung securing 99.2% has topped the exams from entire Mussoorie region in the state of Uttarakhand.
Mussoorie is a well known destination for school education and it features most well known schools in India. Topping the class 12 CBSE exams in the region is a real feat and first ever Tibetan to do so. Kunga Legjung is a student of Science stream and the second school topper is Sonam Topgyal from Arts stream securing 98.6%. Tenzing Nyima is the third topper of the school securing 98.2% from Arts stream. Besides, the school has an impressive 86.5% average score from students.
The President or Sikyong of Central Tibetan Administration, Dr. Lobsang Sangay has called the feat as significant achievement. “I would like to congratulate the students on this outstanding achievement and I also congratulate and commend the dedicated teachers and staff of the Department of Education who have worked very hard to support the students.”
In this year’s class 12 CBSE exams, 1016 students from 16 Tibetan secondary schools in India appeared and 998 of them have clear it. An impressive pass percentage of 98% has been recorded. The Education Department of CTA announced that those 19 students will be awarded the Sikyong Scholarship Award.
