Tibet National Football team gets world cup wild card entry according to the official news report from Central Tibetan Administration. The Tibetan football team representing Tibetans has been given a wild card entry from the organizers to play for the World Football Cup 2018 without requiring to go through the qualifiers round.
“The Tibet National Football team is all set to participate in the World Football Cup 2018 in London next summer. The world football cup is organised by Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA), the international governing body for Non-FIFA affiliated Associations for football.” said the official report from Central Tibetan Administration.
While the World Football Cup 2018 is scheduled to take place in London next year with almost 18 participating countries from 4 continents, the Tibet National Football Team A will officially be playing for the title representing Tibet. Tibetan team has been granted a wild card ticket qualifying for the world cup tournament.
“At least 16 teams from 4 continents will be participating in the 2018 edition making it the biggest tournament ever played outside of FIFA. Teams include one from Oceania, one from North America, two each from Africa and Asia, and five from Europe. The rest are automatically qualified as host teams and reigning champions.” added the report.
The tournament will officially begin on 31 May 2018 and the final match is scheduled for 9 June 2018.
