The President of Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamshala at the sidelines of the ongoing 3rd Special General Meeting of Tibetans said that their spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is inseparable from them. The special meeting of the representatives of the Tibetan people from across the world meets for three days in India.
Around 340 Tibetan community leaders and representatives from 24 countries including India, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Nepal, and Bhutan have arrived for participating in this year’s 3rd Special General Meeting convened by the Kashag and the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile in Dharamshala, beginning from Thursday.
Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the president of Central Tibetan Administration while speaking on the sidelines of the meeting in an interview told that the institution of His Holiness the Dalai Lama should continue and he only should decide over his reincarnation. The Tibetan leader also added that the Dalai Lama and Tibetan people are inseparable!
“The institution of the Dalai Lama should continue and the reincarnation of Dalai Lama should be decided by only Dalai Lama himself,” Lobsang Sangay said in the recent interview, adding “Especially not the Communist Party of China, which is an atheist organization, which says religion is a poison and discourages religious practice,”.
“The Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people are inseparable. The great legacy of the Dalai Lama should continue,” Dr. Sangay added in the interview, explaining that His Holiness himself has left it for the Tibetan people to decide on whether the institution of Dalai Lama should continue or not!
The third General Meeting will focus on enabling full-scale participation of Tibetan civil society in the discussion and decision-making processes apropos to the key themes- 1) Five Fifty Vision and 2) The relationship between the lineage of His Holiness the Dalai Lamas and Tibetan people.
