Skyway to cater to the substantial rise of tourists in the beautiful town Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh India. The hill station in the himalayan ranges will soon get the Skyway connection to ease the vehicular traffic in the region. According to the report in the Tribune, the government has already signed the Sky Way corporation to start the project.
“To increase the tourist inflow, the state government has decided to start skyway transport facility in Dharamsala. An agreement was signed by the Himachal Pradesh Government with Sky Way Technology Corporation of Belarus in Delhi.” said the report.
The Skyway project is expected to spread through a radius of 15 kilometers of which the first 8 kilometers will be constructed in the first phase of development that is is scheduled to begin in the next 3 months. According to the reports, the ride of the will be priced at Rs. 60 per person for the stretch of 15 kilometers.
Impressively, the Skyway transport can travel at a speed of 50km/h accommodating six persons in a bogie. It is expected that after the completion of the project, the Skyway is expected to transport around 20,000 people per day.
The rail network transport has several benefits. Apart from it easing the traffic load in the narrow roads of the hilly town, the Skyway is pollution free, accident free transport system which is also safe during floods or earth quakes. Especially, the transport system is very cheap for the commuters.
According to the government, the Skyway is not only aimed at promoting tourism in the region, it will also help the local residents. The train like bogies can be used to transport loads too!
