Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay conferred Takasu award by the Takasu Foundation, Japan on Wednesday afternoon at Dharamshala, India. The Takasu award was conferred upon the political leader of the Tibetan people as a mark of their support for the Tibetan struggle and the education of the Tibetans.
“On 4th October, 2017 in the afternoon 4’oclock, in a formal gathering of all the Tibetan public servants at the new Central Tibetan Administration auditorium, the President (Sikyong) Dr. Lobsang Sangay was conferred with the Takasu Award to mark their support for the Tibetan struggle and the education of Tibetans.” said the official report in the CTA Tibetan website.
Dr. Katsuya Takasu was present at the event with his wife and he is a sponsor to the Tibetan children’s education since 2014. During Dr. Lobsang Sangay’s visit to Japan in 2014, he came in contact with Dr. Takasu and since then he had agreed to help in the education of Tibetan children.
The report added that despite event was being organised by the Central Tibetan Administration, all the expenses are being borne by the Takasu Foundation. They has also organised a special meal for lunch to all the staffs of the Central Tibetan Administration at their staff mess that afternoon.
Takasu is a member of Japan Medical Association, Japan Society of Aesthetic Surgery, Japanese Association of Cosmetic Surgeons, Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. In January 2011, Takasu was also appointed to be a visiting professor of cosmetic surgery at Showa University School of Medicine. [wiki]
