The Nobel Peace laureate His Holiness the Dalai Lama says that prayers alone will not achieve world peace according to his official tweet in the social media on Friday. His Holiness has on earlier occasions too told that violence is a very short-sighted reaction and we need to educate human values, not just resort to prayers.
“Although I am a Buddhist monk, I am skeptical that prayers alone will achieve world peace. We need instead to be enthusiastic and self-confident in taking action.” tweeted His Holiness the Dalai Lama to his followers community of more 17.7 million people on Friday.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama on an earlier occasion told in a response to the brutal terror attacks in Paris back in 2015 explaining that such problems can not be eradicated through prayers alone rather impart education on human values to change at individual levels and then move on to neighbourhood and society.
“Violence is a reaction by short-sighted, out-of-control people. At 81, I believe it cannot be resolved through prayers or government help. We have to begin the change at individual level and then move on to neighborhood and society.” His Holiness tweeted earlier in 2015.
The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is an iconic leader based in exile in India and he is well known the promotion of human values, religious harmony and the Tibet issue, the three commitments of his life. His Holiness was felicitated with the Nobel Peace prize for his commitments in 1989 and today at the age of 82, he is one of the most revered leaders across the world, despite being based in exile in India over the past six decades.
