A Pakistani origin journalist is attempting to defame the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama by spreading fake news online. Following the attempts, netizens are now calling on to ban her social media accounts. For the past few days, followers of the spiritual leader are campaigning for mass collaboration to report the journalist’s fake news posts to ultimately ban her.
The Pakistani origin American by the name of Sameera Khan boasting 66K followers on her Twitter handle is attempting to defame His Holiness the Dalai Lama by spreading false information that the spiritual leader practiced feudalism. She is spreading posts stating that he owned “6,170 field serfs and 102 house slaves” and performed Buddhist rituals with human skin peeled off slaves!
Targeted posts from Khan is clearly showing her intentions to confuse ignorant people with her so called “fun facts”. Threads of her tweets against the spiritual leader ultimately lands to the fact of justifying Chinese occupation of Tibet! Despite Tibet was extremely isolated from the world, the basic fabric of Tibetan community has always been formed by faith and belief in peace, compassion from teachings of Buddhism.
Going by the link of Sameera Khan on Twitter, series of tweets show her inclination towards Communism and China. Many twitter users are slamming the journalist by calling her a China agent performing such activities on Chinese payment. Her retweets are also aimed at accusing the spiritual leader of the atrocities on Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar according Phayul.
“Retweets from her account consist of wrong information aimed only to slander, like accusing the Dalai Lama of the atrocities on Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar. She also called out AOC’s support for the Dalai Lama, “When will AOC renounce her support for slave owners? Not until her brain dead supporters hold her accountable for supporting slave owners.” said the report.
According Phayul, she is a former correspondent for Russia Today (RT) in the US, and also the winner of the Miss New Jersey USA title in 2015. In 2018, she posted a variety of tweets defending known genocidal leader Joseph Stalin Stalin’s gulags as being not as severe as portrayed in history. Later, she apologized for the gulag memes, stating she found out that the information in the memes she shared was “inaccurate”.
