In an extremely and distressing news report, Nepal police arrests 41 Tibetans from Tibet who were travelling to India via a public bus. The Danghadi district police has arrested the Tibetans on Monday and they have been sent back to Department of Immigration in Kathmandu for further action.
“The district police office has sent all the arrested Tibetans to the Department of Immigration, Kathmandu for further investigation and necessary legal actions.” informed SP Rajendra Bista according to a report in My Republica.
The police told that the Tibetans were travelling to India for a pilgrimage illegally and therefore they have arrested the Tibetans.
According to the report in Tibet Times, most of the Tibetans are from the Dotoe and Domey regions of Tibet. The regional Dotoe and Domey Welfare Association are visiting the Immigration Department in Kathmandu where the Tibetans are being brought to understand the problem. The arrested Tibetans are expected to reach there today and then the authorities will take decisions. It is still not clear whether the police would return the Tibetans back to Chinese authorities.
