Mysterious Lab to Unlock Immortality for the Super-Wealthy

Dharamshala, 7th September: A new and rather obscure Silicon Valley firm committed to anti-aging research receives significant financing from the wealthy. According to the MIT Technology Review, Altos Labs, a biological technology reprogrammer, is reportedly attracted by major investors such as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezo or Russian-Israeli milliardaire Yuri Milner. At present the company invites some of the world’s leading scientists to join huge payrolls and promises to make their anti-aging research work free. Some of the participants will also raise some eyebrows.

One of the experts who come to Altos is Juan Carlos Izpisúa Belmonte, a biologist from the Institute of Salk in La Jolla, California. In 2017, he wave as he started researching to develop a chimaera for people / pigs. Also joining the Chair of the Scientific Consultative Board of Alta is Shinya Yamanaka, a scientist and Nobel Prize recipient for his study into cell ageing.

The revitalising process of biological reprogramming is the key to immortality. While there are countless startups, none of whom have the support today offered by Altos Labs.

Altos Labs’s a bit of a mystery, therefore. The rationale for the financing is clear: people don’t want to die. However, the how is a bit of an issue. Maybe an even more scarce question mark is who gets to immortality exactly if and when it is unlocked?
