The local leaders from Kargil district in Ladakh region convened meetings and carried out a thorough review of all the important arrangements being made for the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit. His Holiness has accepted the request made for his visit to the region during his month long stay in Ladakh.
Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, Executive Councilor for Education Advocate Muhammad Amir, Executive Councilor for Tourism Tenzin Sonam, MLA Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai, Deputy Commissioner and CEO LAHDC Kargil, Vikas Kundal, SSP Kargil, Tsering Gyalpo, senior officers of district administration, representatives of various religious and social organizations and other concerned officers gathered in a meeting convened by CEC LAHDC Kargil on Thursday to review arrangements being made for Dalai Lama’s visit next week.
“During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on the preparations regarding the reception, boarding and lodging, security, medicare, sanitation, installation of Public Address System, laying of shamiyanas, seating arrangements and providing of water tankers at all venues were Dalai Lama will address the gatherings. Arrangements for holding of folk cultural programmes were also discussed.” said the report in ScoopNews on Thursday and the Chairman has stressed of strict measures to be put up to ensure smooth conduct of Dalai Lama’s visit to the district.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Vikas Kundal also visited PhotangGonpa and reviewed the arrangements being made in connection with the ensuing visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama to Zanskar on 20th of July, 2018. The DC instructed the concerned officers to put in place the arrangements with regard to boarding and lodging, security, transport, sanitation besides other requisite arrangements well in time according to local sources.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is scheduled to arrived in Zanskar on July 20 to engage in religious programs till 25 following His Holiness is scheduled to graced Kargil district on a two day visit to the region.
