Korean Priest Urge for Dalai Lama's Return to Tibet in This Life

A Korean Priest or the Chief monk of a temple in Korea has written a letter to the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama urging him to return to Tibet. The Korean Buddhist’s letter request His Holiness to return to Tibet whatever may happen, by crossing into the Tibetan border, going through whatever affliction it may come.

Ven. Dongbong, of Daegaksa Temple writes in the letter; “To His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, A Korean bhikku, Dongbong, respectfully offers this petition.”, which while showing gratitude to the great teachings of Buddhism brought out to the world by His Holiness, urges him to take the initiative to walk into the Tibetan border disregarding everything else.

The Korean priest believes that doing so would give the explosive energy Tibetan cause needs as a breakthrough for their prolonged independence movement. He believes that His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the heart of Tibet and the champion of great Buddhist teachings. However, he asserts that Buddhists can only exist when there is a nation and its people.

After 60 years in exile, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan movement has thrived a prolonged strive for self determination. With His Holiness aging up, China has even publicly been displaying their authority in recognizing the next Dalai Lama. While Tibetans are praying on for the long healthy life of the 84 year spiritual leader, they are not able to image of a post Dalai Lama situation.

Despite efforts from the exile Tibetan movement forces led by His Holiness, many rounds of talks and visits with the Beijing authorities didn’t yield satisfactory results. However, the strategic set up of a democratically administered exile Tibetan headquarter, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Central Tibetan Administration has now been taking the complete charge of the movement since 2011, led by an elected leader.
