According to fresh breaking reports, a Chinese PLA soldier has been captured by Indian army on Monday. The Chinese soldier had strayed across the Line of Actual Control has been captured from Demchok sector of Eastern Ladakh. The Indian army is however has affirmed that the Chinese soldier will be returned back to China after completing the formalities.
The soldier, identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long, was caught in the Chumar-Demchok area and the Indian army statement on Monday said that he had been provided medical assistance including oxygen, food and warm clothes “to protect him from the vagaries of extreme altitude and harsh climatic conditions”.
Indian and Chinese army are on a long face off along the LAC in Ladakh since May. Tensions had peaked in June and the violent face off claimed the lives of 20 Indian soldiers while Chinese also suffered casualities in the Galwan Valley. Despite many rounds of talks at different levels between the two countries, a mutual agreement on resolution has not arrived yet.
Last month, Tibetan origin solider of Special Frontier Forces of India was killed in an alleged firing as the two armies can face to face near Pangong Tso. The issue of Tibet has come into the lime light ever since tensions along the border floated. In addition to the negative sentiment towards China over the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic, the border tensions have intensified that negative sentiment against China in India.
