Himachal Pradesh Governor Greets Tibetans on Their New Year

The Himachal Pradesh governor has extended his greetings to the Tibetan people on the occasion of Tibetan New Year, popularly known as the Losar in Tibetan language. The governor of the North Indian state conveyed his new year’s greeting message through an official letter which was published by the official website of Central Tibetan Administration in Dharamshala.

Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat said, “I wish a happy and joyful new year to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetans worldwide and hope that it will bring happiness, enthusiasm and joy in the life of everyone and we will go ahead in the direction of world peace”. Hon Devvrat also expressed his profound prayers for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

According to the official report, the Governor further expressed his hope that the brotherhood and mutual harmony between Tibetans and Indians would be strengthened, and said that the shared traditions, culture and civilizations were the same and this coordination gives the message of love to the whole world.

Besides the governor, the Chief Minister of the state Shri  Jai Ram Thakur also extended his greetings to the Tibetan across the world through a video message on Tibetan new year.

Himachal Pradesh is the state in India where the headquarter of the Tibetan exile base is set up. It is also the home of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama for the past 60 years since his escape from Tibet under the invasion by Chinese troops in 1959.
