Dharamshala, 2nd November: His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama wrote to Dr. Beck’s daughter Judith to convey his condolences to her, her mother, and other members of their family after learning of his friend’s death at the age of 100.
As per TibetToday, in the letter, his holiness wrote, “Your father truly led a meaningful life.” “As you are aware, he and I have met on various occasions over the years, including a visit to his house in Philadelphia. We had a lot of fun talking about topics that we both care about, especially the inner workings of the mind and how that knowledge might be applied to help people have happier and more fulfilling lives. His tremendous contribution to the field of mental health was much appreciated by me.”
According to TibetToday, His Holiness concluded his letter by saying, “I am convinced that The Beck Institute, which your father and you co-founded, will continue to support his important work. This will undoubtedly be the most fitting approach to honor him and commemorate his life.”
