Dr. Lobsang Sangay Takes News Week Cover Story

President Dr. Lobsang Sangay takes the News Week magazine cover story in its September 11 edition according to the official news report from the Central Tibetan Administration website. Newsweek En Espanol, Spanish version of the reputed weekly periodical featured the Tibetan political leader in its cover story in their latest edition.

“The President of Central Tibetan Administration Dr Lobsang Sangay has been featured on the cover of Newsweek En Espanol (Spanish). The September 11 issue of the Newsweek featuring the cover story titled ‘Tibet Is Vital For the Rest of the World: Lobsang Sangay,’ hit the news stands today.” said the official report in Central Tibetan Administration website.

The Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Latin America, Tsewang Phuntso said “this is only the second time a Tibet issue or a Tibetan personality has been featured on the cover following the October 2013 edition which featured His Holiness the Dalai Lama during his visit to Mexico.”

The week is marked by Mexican president’s visit to China and the unfortunate earth quake incident in the country. Yet having made to the cover of the Spanish Magazine cover of a Spanish speaking country exhibits the importance laid towards Tibet.

“Dr Sangay calls on Latin America and in particular Mexico to review and understand the history of what is now considered the second least free nation in the world, which continues its peaceful struggle to achieve genuine autonomy under the framework of People’s Republic of China through the Middle Way Approach based on the principles of non-violence and dialogue.” added the report.

This is regarded as very important milestone for the Office of Tibet and Casa Tibet Mexico who have been advocating for the Tibet issue in the Latin America and the cover story of the Tibetan leader in the largest selling periodical dealt with all the vital issues.
