His Holiness the Dalai Lama arrived in the Rochester city on Tuesday and has been staying at the Mayo Clinic for the last two days to get his annual medical check up done. According to the official report of Central Tibetan Administration, the doctors has reported that the Dalai Lama’s health is in excellent condition and there is nothing to be worried about from the medical check up.
“His Holiness stayed for two days at the Mayo Clinic. For a very good news, the doctors who examined upon His Holiness have reported that he is in excellent health condition.” said the news report by Central Tibetan Administration in Tibetan.
After the completion of the annual medical check up, His Holiness will set off for San Diego where his scheduled for four days of programs marked by the public speech on 16th June and the Commencement event at the University of California San Diego. Even though the Chinese international students constitute around 15% of the student body at the University, the Administrators and organizers did not heed to the Chinese students’ protest against the Dalai Lama speaking at the All Campus Commencement, thus staying firm to their believe the values promoted by His Holiness.
The visit to the United States is a 17 day tour and as a part of the tour His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s other engagements consists of a public talk on ‘Caring for the World through Kindness and Compassion’ at Minneapolis, MN and a public talk for the Tibetan Community in Minnesota among many other engagements. His Holiness will return to India June 26 and will be spending a month and a half’s time in Ladakh after that.
