The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s slight delay in scheduled visit to the Nubra valley from Leh on Thursday was reported to be due to exhaustion and not due to suffering from common cold. The Tibet Times report in Tibetan quoted the clarification from His Holiness’s personal physician who further informed that Dalai Lama’s health condition are better than previous year.
According to scheduled timeline, His Holiness was expected to travel from Leh to Nubra Valley on Wednesday. However, the Tibetan spiritual leader actually arrived to the region on Thursday and Dr. Tseten explained that due to extended engagements for His Holiness on the previous day, he had to rest on the following and therefore had to postpone the scheduled visit to Nubra valley by one day.
Besides, the personal physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama informed that the spiritual leader’s health conditions are better than the previous year and there is nothing at all to worry! Dr. Tseten added that the public opinion of His Holiness suffering from common cold could be due to dry weather conditions in Ladakh which has dust in the air inducing some sneezes.
Since the Tibetan spiritual leader has an extended stay in Ladakh with an unusually abundant engagements, the public concern over His Holiness’s health is understandable at such an advanced age. His Holiness the Dalai Lama presently at the Disket Monastery in Nubra valley is also scheduled to arrived in Zanskar on July 20 to engage in religious programs till 25 following His Holiness is scheduled to graced Kargil district on a two day visit to the region.
