The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Sunday arrived in the holy place of Sansika in the Uttar Pradesh state of India by a chartered flight from Delhi. His Holiness will give a three-day teaching on Shantideva’s A Guide to the Boddhisattva’s Way of Life organized by the Youth Buddhist Society (YBS) of India.
“The Dalai Lama landed at the airport by a chartered plane. Farrukhabad Lok Sabha MP Mukesh Rajput, senior officials of the district administration and followers of Buddhism welcomed him,” District Magistrate Monika Rani said according to the report in Business Standard.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama will deliver sermons at YBS Centre Rajghat Sankisa near Farrukhabad-Mainpuri boundary during the Dhamm Pravachan Samaroh. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav have been invited for the programme. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Union minister Kiren Rijiju are also likely to attend the programme.
Sankisa, which is counted among the eight major Buddhist pilgrimage places in India, devotees from various countries such as the US, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, England, Peru, Israel and Thailand have reached the venue to attend the three days teaching by the Buddhist spiritual leader.
