Dalai Lama Listed The World’s Most Influential Spiritual Leader

In the latest issue of Watkins magazine they announced the Watkins’s 2016 list of the 100 Most Spiritually Influential Living People in which His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet have been listed at the top spot.

In the Spring issue of Watkins Mindy Body Spirit Magazine, they have published the list which have been selected from all the living spiritual teachers, activists, authors and thinkers from across the world who have changed the world with their spiritual influence.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama listed at number one is trailed by Pope Francis and followed by Desmond Tutu at the third spot. Oprah Winfrey is placed at tenth spot while Pema Chödrön at the thirty eighth place and hollywood actor, activist and long time Tibet supporter Richard Gere at the eighty ninth spot of the 100 list.

The list of the 100 people have been made on the basis of the following three factors:

“1) The person has to be alive as of January 1st, 2016
2) The person has to have made a unique and spiritual contribution on a global scale
3) The person is frequently googled, appears in Nielsen Data, has a Wikipedia page, and is actively talked about throughout the Internet,taking into account the amount of times that a person is googled or how many times their Wikipedia profile is viewed,.”

Watkins bookshop in London has started publishing the top 100 list since 2011 to celebrate the world’s living spiritual leaders and their positive influences to change the world for better.
