The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Sunday concluded three days of live teaching in a positive note by expressing his hope that he may be able to visit Bodhgaya by the end of this year to conduct his annual teachings. The spiritual leader even assured that he is determined to live another 15-20 years and serve humanity.
“We’ve had to meet this way because of the pandemic. However, I hope that by the end of this year or next year, things will have improved. I’m eager to go to the Thekchen Chöling Tsuglagkhang again. And I hope that at the end of this year I may be able to go to Bodhgaya to teach. I expect this body to hold up for the next 15-20 years and in that time I’m determined to talk and talk. The purpose of my own practice is to share what I’ve learned with more people. Thank you.” His Holiness the Dalai Lama said while concluding three days of virtual teachings.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama explained the text of ‘Entering into the Middle Way’ at the request the Nalanda Shiksha during the course of teachings. He explained that soon after enlightenment Buddha Shakyamuni taught the Four Noble Truths, the basis of the Buddha dharma. Since no sentient being with feelings wants to encounter suffering, he taught about suffering first. Then he explained its origin. Next, he revealed the third truth, that there is cessation of suffering, which entails the complete elimination of its causes. Finally, the fourth truth concerned the path.
During three days of live teaching sessions, the spiritual leader was viewed by thousands of followers. Few of them got the opportunities to ask their questions live to which His Holiness answered. The positive note from the teaching was clearly the fact that the 85 year old spiritual leader is in perfect health conditions with peace of mind.
