Dalai Lama flies Back to Delhi, To Remain in Hospital for Few Days

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has flown back to New Delhi early this morning for medical check up and the personal physician has informed that he will remain at hospital for next few days. Although His Holiness had returned to Dharamshala just yesterday, he has flown back to New Delhi today.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama returned to his temporal residence, Dharamshala on Monday after a four day visit to New Delhi. However, the Tibetan spiritual leader has flown back to the national capital early this morning to undergo medical check up at the Max Hospital there.

According to the Voice of Tibet’s report in Tibetan, the personal physician to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dr. Tseten has informed over the phone that His Holiness has been flown back to Delhi due to getting common cold. While the personal physician explained that there is nothing to be worried about His Holiness’s health, he explained that His Holiness will be remaining at the hospital for the next few days.

The Tibetan spiritual leader visited New Delhi last week primarily to inaugurate the Global Launch of the Social, Emotional and Ethical Learning (SEEL) program developed at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. During the four days visit, His Holiness also interacted with a group of Youth Global Leaders presided by American philanthropist Bobby Sager.

With advanced age, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s travels have been limited, especially long distance travels to western countries. However, efforts to relax the almost 84 years spiritual leader’s schedules are yet to yield any results. His Holiness has been actively engaged in teaching programs, interactions and discussions both in real and virtual modes.
