The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama through his trust donated medical protective equipment to the Himachal police. Set of Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs), Hand Sanitizers, Face masks and hand gloves have been donated. The Dalai Lama Trust engages with an active role in supporting the local authorities fight against coronavirus pandemic.
The Dalai Lama Trust has donated 200 personal protection equipment (PPE) kits, 200 hand sanitisers (500 ml), 5,000 face masks and 300 gloves to Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra Police to help them in the fight against coronavirus, a senior official said according to the report by Outlook on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police, Kangra, Mr. Vimukt Ranjan expressed his gratitude for extending help to the police through a post on Facebook.
“Kangra Police extends its sincere gratitude and thanks to The Dalai Lama Trust for helping us fight the coronavirus pandemic by donating 200 PPE Kits, 200 hand sanitisers (500ml), 5000 face masks and 300 gloves,” SP Ranjan said in the post on Facebook.
The trust earlier delivered a donation of 500 PPE Kits to Tanda Hospital in Kangra. While the pandemic has caused a huge shortage of medical equipments, the contribution has come as a need of the hour. Besides, protective equipments such as masks and PPEs are very difficult to find for purchase due to demand.
The Dalai Lama Trust, India was founded in 2003 by His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama. The Trust was established to support the activities for advancement and welfare of the people in general and Tibetans in particular by funding and providing financial support through grants and donations. It also provides help in preservation and promotion of the rich culture and unique heritage of the ancient civilization of Tibet in its many facets.
