The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been selected for the Gandhidarsan International Award by the Gandhi Global Foundation according to the report in the Hindu on Wednesday. The foundation is presenting the Best Parliamentarian Award, the Best Chief Minister Award, etc., among many other national awards.
“The Dalai Lama has been selected for the Gandhi Global Foundation’s Gandhidarsan International Award. The award comprises a purse of ₹3 lakh, a citation, and sculpture, foundation president S. Vijayan said at a press conference here on Tuesday.” said the report in the Hindu on Wednesday.
The foundation’s national award jury comprised of Mr Acahary and K.T. Thomas, former Supreme Court announced the award for the best Parliamentarian to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, award for the Best Chief Minister has gone to Pinarayi Vijayan. The award for spiritual service has been announced to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Philipose Mar Chrysostom, Metropolitan Emeritus of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church of Malabar.
The report explained that the national awards comprise a purse of ₹1 lakh, citation, and sculpture. The national awards will be presented across three venues — in the city on January 30, in Bengaluru on February 27, and in New Delhi on March 4 at the foundation’s international conferences.
