The Chinese man Tang Lu was convicted of murdering his divorced Tibetan wife at the Abe Prefecture Intermediate People’s Court in the southwestern province of Sichuan, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV. The death penalty was promptly imposed.
Tang and Lhamo divorced in the middle of 2020, and three months later, on September 14, Tang paid an unannounced visit to her home on the Tibetan plateau, armed with a knife and a bucket of gasoline.
