Dharamshala, 22nd December: On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Representative Namgyal Choedup and personnel from the Office of Tibet (OoT) attended the 32nd anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize day event hosted by the Capital Area Tibetan Association (CATA), according to tibet.net. CATA youth Tenzin Tsedup was also there at the meeting and shared his experiences and the importance of teaching SEE learning to his Weekend School students.
According to Tibet.net, representatives spoke on how today’s event should serve as a reminder of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s contribution and work toward a better and more peaceful world in general, as well as the current Kashag’s steadfast commitment to the Middle Way Approach to resolving Tibetan issues. He urged Tibetans in North America, particularly young people, to join the CTA’s V-TAG (Voluntary Tibet Advocacy Group) initiative. He also asked the public to read Kashag’s and the Tibetan Parliament’s statements and work together to achieve the ultimate goal of restoring Tibetan freedom in Tibet.
Representative commended the US government as per tibet.net, particularly the 60 members of Congress who wrote to Under Secretary Uzra Zeya on December 14, 2021, assuming she would be the next US special coordinator for Tibetan problems.
Tenzin Namgyal Tenthong encourages everyone to read His Holiness’ publications, such as “My Land and My People”, “Ancient Wisdom Modern World” (Ethics for the New Millennium), and others, to gain a better understanding of His Holiness’ beliefs.
ICT Bhuchung urges Tibetans in exile to try to spread His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings to Tibetans inside Tibet as widely as possible, in order to prevent the Chinese government from spreading misinformation about His Holiness and His relations with Tibetans inside Tibet, as well as between Tibetans inside and outside Tibet.
As per the article, a Nobel Peace Prize song was performed by CATA Weekend School pupils, followed by a Nobel Peace Prize quiz. Finally, words and a thank you card from CATA President Tenzin Bhashee brought the ceremony to a close.
