Cashier at Bylakuppe Tibetan Petrol Pump Flees Away with Rs. 17-18 Lakhs

According to the Tibetan news report on Tibet Times on Monday, a Tibetan man working as the cashier at the petrol pump of the Bylakuppe Tibetan Cooperative Society has fled away with a lump sum cash of around Rs. 17-18 lakhs. The cashier has fled away with the sum of the petrol pump’s collections accumulated for several days.

“While there has been a viral circular of a picture of a Tibetan couple on the social media recently accused of fleeing away with huge amount of cash from the Bylakuppe Tibetan petrol pump, after contacting the petrol pump manager, it is learned that the cashier at the petrol pump has fled with accumulated cash of Rs. 17-18 lakhs along with the family members on June 26.” said the report in Tibet Times on Monday.

According to the report, the cashier usually collect the daily collections of the petrol pump from the staffs and deposit it to the bank, return the deposit receipt to the accountant of the enterprise. However, due to banks remaining holiday for several days, he has been able to collect a lump sum of Rs. 17-18 lakhs with which has now run away on last Tuesday.

The manager of the enterprise has also informed that the cashier on an earlier occasion on May 30, the very culprit had also forged the bank receipt of a fake deposit of the collections from the sales and submitted to the accountant.

A person close to the cashier has explained that he is a newly arrived Tibetan from Tibet who was earlier ordained as a monk in India later disrobed and has also been a victim of substance abuse in the past.
