Buddhist Nuns to Offer Dalai Lama’s Long Life Prayer

Buddhist nuns belonging to all the five different sects of Tibetan religious composition, i.e., the four major sects of Tibetan Buddhism and the Yungdrung Bon will offer a long life prayer to the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The long life ceremony will be attended by His Holiness at Dharamsala.

The Buddhist nuns are scheduled to offer a long life prayer to His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Main Temple in McLeod Ganj on March 1st and the ceremony will be graced by His Holiness.

“His Holiness will attend a Long Life offering prayer to him given by Buddhist nuns from all five Tibetan schools of Buddhism including Bon in the morning at the Main Tibetan Temple.” said the schedule of His Holiness the Dalai Lama according his official website.

While the ceremony will be carried out by the representatives of all the Buddhist nuns from all five sects of Tibetan Buddhism including the Yungdrung Bon, the long life prayer is being offered as a mark of gratitude to His Holiness for his continued care and support offered to the Buddhist nuns. It also aims at fulfilment of His Holiness’s compassionate vision for the welfare of all sentient beings.
