Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Visits His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Bodhgaya

The Chief Minister (CM) of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar on Monday made a visit to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama who is presently stationed in the holy place of Bodhgaya in the state. The visit took place at the residence of His Holiness in Bodhgaya.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama who is staying at the Gaden Phelgyeling Monastery in Bodhgaya received a special visit from the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar to whole His Holiness presented a traditional Tibetan scarf as a token of blessing.

In the morning of Monday, the concluding event of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s visit to Bodhgaya was an elaborate Long-life Ceremony offered to him jointly by the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), Namgyal Monastery and the Shelkar Ngashap. In response to the offering, His Holiness reassured that he is still healthy and he is praying to live more than 100 years to continue his service.

To a surprise, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is now schedule to leave from Bodhgaya in January 2, one week short of pre planned schedule to stay for three weeks in Bodhgaya. The Tibetan spiritual leader arrived in the holy city of Bodhgaya in December 16 and His Holiness will now be returning back to Dharamshala on January 2.
