The veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in an exclusive interview to entertainment magazine Filmfare, he spoke about his opportunity to meet the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamshala. The actor who started from a very humble beginning is today one of the most versatile actors in the industry.
Though the entire interview was about Anupam Kher’s career in the film industry, they discussed briefly about a photo-frame of the actor with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, where the actor described the meeting a one of the most cherished moments of his life.
“I drove all the way from Delhi to Dharamshala to receive the award and was privileged to be able to spend two hours with His Holiness. He has seen so much and yet remains like a child, full of wonder, full of life. We just talked about random subjects – just listening to him, brought clarity to so many things. I came away knowing I’d connected with a pure soul.” Anupam Kher told the magazine.
Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama had presented an award to actor and chairman of FTII, Pune, at Macleodganj in Himachal Pradesh for his significant contribution to society back more than a decade ago where His Holiness also unveiled a poster of his upcoming film then. According to the article, the actor was shooting for his 511th film!
