In a beautiful post from the official social media accounts of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, an American footballer presents him a cap and football of his team in United States on Tuesday. The American footballer who is on a visit to India for charity works sought His Holiness’s blessings at his residence.
“His Holiness the Dalai Lama wearing a cap and holding a football presented by Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during their meeting at his residence in Dharamsala, HP, India on April 10, 2018.” said the post in official Instagram page of His Holiness the Dalai Lama today.
According to the official website of Green Bay Packers of the National Football League, Aaron Rodgers and his girlfriend, race car driver Danica Patrick, are on a mission trip to India in support of Starkey Hearing Foundation, which provides hearing aids to those around the world without access to them otherwise.
It is also suggested from other news reports that since Rodgers and the Packers had a tough luck in the last season, the encounter with the renowned spiritual leader hopes to receive spiritual blessings ahead of the beginning of the new season.
Last year around the same period, the Australian national cricket team had an audience of His Holiness the Dalai Lama ahead of their match in Dharamshala and held an interactive session. The Australian skipper Steve Smith is known to have sought His Holiness’s advice to sleep better following which the two rubbed each others’ noses face to face.
