A bipartisan Congressional delegation from the United States of America has come to the heart of the exile Tibetan community in India and assured their complete support to the Tibetans. The delegation arrived in Dharamshala on a two day visit to the far remote part of India and engaged with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration.
A six member delegation led by the Congressman and Chairman of the U.S House of Democracy Partnership, David Price arrived in Dharamshala on Friday evening. The delegation has made the trip to meet the exiled spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and learn about the democratically administered Central Tibetan Administration.
After visiting the cultural central of Norbulingka on Friday evening, the delegation visited the Central Tibetan Administration on Saturday. During their visit, they discussed on various issues at the Kashag and the Tibetan Parliament in Exile. The delegation then got the opportunity to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the latter’s residence over a luncheon organized for them.
The delegation thanked for the opportunity of a lifetime to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama over a luncheon and listen to his words of wisdom. The US lawmaker assured their complete support and solidarity to the Tibetan people. Congressman Price said that they will continue to support the improving Tibetan communities.
“We in the United States are particularly proud of the long-standing partnership of the U.S and the Central Tibetan Administration, and with His Holiness the Dalai Lama”, said Congressman David Price at the address to the public on Saturday evening. He also added that the support and aid of USAID and the state department will continue for Tibetan communities in India and Nepal to improve their livelihood including the preservation of their religion, culture, and language.
