A man was seriously injured by a bear near Delek Hospital

McleodGanj, 17th May: A Himachali man was on his way from Mcleod Ganj to Dharamshala this morning at dawn. A bear unexpectedly charged him near Delek Hospital. He was severely wounded after being bitten several times on the face, head, and hands. With much effort, he was able to avoid this ordeal.

A similar incident occurred to a local woman near Delek Hospital the previous year, but she was not as badly injured as in this case.

Tibetans living nearby should exercise caution because the incident occurred on the main road, which many Tibetans use to go for circumambulating Tsuklakhang and for jogging.

In an effort to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday extended the coronavirus-induced curfew in the state till May 26. The move to extend the corona curfew was taken in a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday.

Further details were given by state Parliamentary Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, who stated that a three-hour regular relaxation in the curfew would be provided for the opening of critical commodity shops. He did, however, add that hardware stores will be open on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Bhardwaj, in issuing the order, urged the public to either postpone the weddings or perform them in a simple manner at their homes with no more than 20 guests.
