Janjagran Cycle Yatra of Shri Sandesh Meshram landed in Puducherry.

Dharamshala, 6th January: On the 2nd of January 2022, Shri Sandesh Meshram’s Janjagran Cycle Yatra (South India) arrived at the Union Territory of Puducherry, where he was cordially welcomed by India Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS) Puducherry President Shri S. Adhavan, Joint Secretary Shri I. Pandian, and other members.

On the 10th of December 2021, Shri Sandesh Meshram Mundgod launched the cycle rally from Karnataka. Before arriving in Puducherry, he cycled through several villages, towns, and cities in Uttara Kannada, Kerala, and the southern part of Tamil Nadu.

ITFS Puducherry hosted a welcome reception in honor of Shri Sandesh Meshram on the 4th of January 2022 at the Puducherry Legislative Assembly’s premises. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Puducherry, Shri N. Rangaswamy, Hon’ble Speaker of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly, Shri R. Selvam, and Hon’ble MP Rajya Sabha, Puducherry, Shri S. Selvaganapathy graced the event.

The welcoming address was given by Shri Venkata Subramaniam, Member, ITFS Puducherry, and the program was presided over by Shri S. Adhavan, President, ITFS Puducherry. Shri Sandesh Meshram was honored by Hon’ble Speaker Shri R. Selvam for his contributions to the Tibetan cause. The dignitaries were given Tibet pamphlets, which were also distributed to other members of the audience.

Hon’ble Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy flagged off Shri Sandesh Meshram’s Janjagran Cycle Yatra on his onward journey, expressing his support for the Tibetan cause. The vote of thanks was offered by Shri I. Pandian, Joint Secretary, ITFS Puducherry.

Apart from the dignitaries, ITFS Puducherry members, Kalsang, Sonam, and others from the Auroville Tibet Pavilion, and media friends from both print and electronic media attended the event.

During his visit to Puducherry, Shri Sandesh Meshram was entertained by Acha Kalsang of the Auroville Tibet Pavilion. He was taken on a tour of Auroville, where he met Mr. Claude Arpi, a well-known Tibetologist and author.

The major goal of the Janjagran Cycle Yatra (South India) is to raise public awareness about Tibet and the harsh realities that exist under the CCP’s violent control of Tibet.
