US appointed new special coordinator’ for Tibet.

Dharamshala, 21st December: On Monday, the US announced the appointment of a new special coordinator for Tibetan Issues, who will be entrusted with resuming talks between the Dalai Lama and China, as well as encouraging respect for Tibetan human rights.

According to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the Biden administration demonstrated its commitment to tackling Tibetan issues by appointing a high-ranking official, Under Secretary Uzra Zeya. Zeya would encourage communication between the government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Dalai Lama, his representatives, or democratically elected Tibetan leaders while staying in her current position, according to Blinken.

He further added “She will promote respect for the human rights and fundamental freedoms of Tibetans, including their freedom of religion or belief,”

The announcement is likely to ratchet up tensions between the US and China. President Joe Biden was driven into action after a bipartisan group of members of Congress wrote to him in mid-December, requesting that he meet with the Dalai Lama, 86, and press China to resume talks that had been suspended for nearly a decade.

China’s lack of interest in discussion has led many observers to assume that Beijing is waiting for the Dalai Lama to leave, expecting that the global movement he has built for greater rights in Tibet will die out without his leadership.

The international media has chastised China for its role in the reincarnation of lamas, including its own Penchen Lama. China is currently preparing to elect the next Dalai Lama. The irony is that China is a communist country, and religion is forbidden in communist countries.  In recent years, China has become increasingly immersed in Tibetan Buddhist tradition. This demonstrates how politicized the process of selecting reincarnated lamas has become.

China’s selection of the next Dalai Lama not only effectively eliminates Tibet’s dilemma, but also completely transfers Tibet’s religious authority to the Chinese government. China will maneuver through the international Tibet movement by controlling the future Dalai Lama(fake) and indoctrinating him/her entirely with the CCP’s objectives.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the current Dalai Lama, is also the exile Tibetan Community’s unifier. If His Holiness is not present, it will be almost impossible for the Tibetans to unite, as little differences in interests will inevitably destroy the unity. Even though His Holiness is present, the schism is already present.

Time will tell whether Tibetans will stay united without His Holiness. May the Luck be with the Tibetans.
