Swiss Tibetan rallyed for 1000 Km of solo cycle to raise awareness on Chinese repression.

Dharamshala, 25th May: A Swiss-Tibetan held a solo cycle rally of 1000 kilometers from Winterthur to Geneva to raise awareness about the violent repression by China in Tibet. The 46-year-old Tsering Wangdu started his bike rally at the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva on 7 May covering close to 1000 kilometers of bad weather. According to the Central Tibetan Administration, he arrived in Geneva on May 21.

On his arrival in Geneva, he was greeted by workers from the Tibet Bureau Geneva, Kalden Tsomo, and Thinlay Chukki, president of the Tibetan Community in Geneva, Tsesutsang Yonga, as well as members from the Tibetan community, in front of the UN office at Palais des Nations.

Representative Chimey praised Wangdu for organizing a solo-cycle rally for the Tibetan cause and for “serving as an inspiration for others to work towards Tibet’s cause” during the meeting.
He vowed to back Wangdu in his future efforts to better prepare and amplify Tibet’s voice at the United Nations.

Tsering Wangdu, in collaboration with the Tibet Bureau Geneva, sent an appeal letter to Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, to draw her attention to China’s attacks on Tibetan culture, lives, and religion and to demand an end to them.
He warned that China’s mistreatment goes against what it “promised” in the 17-Point Agreement that Tibet was forced to sign.

Wangdu made a five-point appeal, urging the UN and the international community to press China to hold talks with the Dalai Lama’s envoys about his return; the release of Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama Gedhun Choekyi Nyima, his family, Chadral Rinpoche, and other Tibetan political prisoners; a boycott of the 2022 Beijing Olympics; and an investigation into China’s handling of the Coronavirus.

When foreigners do such wonderful things for the well-being of Tibetan people, it is our duty to maintain harmony among ourselves and unite to continue our fight for religious freedom and human rights in Tibet.

There is also a post on Instagram “TibetToday” which says “A german man came all the way in bicycle from Germany to India by crossing 19 different countries to collect the funds for TCV and to make aware of Tibet’s political situation to the different people of the world. The white car in the picture is donated by him and his group to the T.C.V. .. Great job and I salute to you and your group. Tibet needs you.”

But some comments say that the post(news) is old and not recent news.

Whatever the case may be, when western people have this level of commitment to our movement we should at least maintain harmony among ourselves and unite to strive for our movement lest our case will be lost with time.
