A US Bi-partisan Congressional delegation has traveled all the way to Himalayan town of Dharamshala in North India and met the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama at his residence. The Congressional delegation arrived in the head quarter of Tibetan exile on Friday evening for a two day visit.
Six member delegation of US bipartisan congressional delegation of the House of Democracy Partnership was received at the residence of the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Mcleod Ganj, Dharamshala on Saturday morning. After delivering a message to the delegation and their accompanying members, His Holiness engaged in an interacting with the members. Following that, a luncheon was organized for the guests at His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s residence.
They visited the Kashag Secretariat for a brief meeting with President Dr. Lobsang Sangay and the cabinet members. They also met with Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile and then in the evening, they will interact with the officials of CTA at T-building, CTA on Saturday.
The six-member U.S Bipartisan Congressional delegation of the House of Democracy Partnership led by Congressman David Price, Chair of House Democracy Partnership and Co-chair Vern Buchanan. Mr. Price affirmed his and the delegation’s solidarity with Tibet and the Tibetans in the preservation of Tibetan religion and culture. He assured to provide all the necessary assistance and support for the cause of Tibet to the best of their abilities, according to the report by the official website Central Tibetan Administration.
