The Next Dalai Lama will be Born in India

The Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama has in a recently published interview to a leading news agency told that the he will be reborn in India. His Holiness during the interview by senior journalist Vijay Kranti said that since he left China occupied Tibet deliberately to live in India, he will definitely be reborn in that region and not in the hands of Chinese.

During the interview around the of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s birthday, Vijay Kranti reminded that the Tibetan spiritual leader had earlier stated that he may be the last Dalai Lama. His Holiness responded that the institution of the Dalai Lama should not continue if it is not serving the purpose. However, current circumstances show necessity for a next Dalai Lama and he explained that the rebirth will come with a specific purpose.

“I mean the present Dalai Lama – deliberately left his country because of pressing circumstances.  This fact makes one thing very clear that if the present Dalai Lama takes rebirth, his reincarnation will be for a very specific purpose. Because his predecessor left his own country Tibet deliberately, and for a specific purpose, to live in India, then his reincarnation will also definitely reappear in that area and not in Chinese  hands.  That is definite, otherwise there is no logic behind my coming into exile and working for Tibetan freedom.” His Holiness the Dalai Lama said in the interview.

A senior official of the Chinese government had told at a recent press briefing in Lhasa that the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama should be found within the jurisdiction of their government. Besides adding that the successor should be approved by China, the senior official went on to warn India not to interfere in this matter and recognize their authority or face detrimental bilateral ties.

However, according to the close aide of the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the issue of reincarnation is his personal right. At the same time, he said that His Holiness has even warned that any candidate chosen for political ends by anyone, including China, should not be recognized or accepted.

The close aide explained that there is no certainty that whether the institution of the Dalai Lama should continue or not after the 14th, the current Dalai Lama, he had announced in 2011 that he would decide at 90 whether or not he should have a successor. The official has even quoted that His Holiness keeps saying that the reincarnation will be decided by only himself.
