China and Pakistan Slammed for Comparing Dalai Lama to a Terrorist

As a senior Pakistan journalist made the weirdest comparison, i.e., the global terrorist based in Pakistan, Masood Azhar to the Nobel Peace laureate His Holiness the Dalai Lama on social media, netizens slammed Pakistan and its backer, China. This has caused in huge uproar in India against China’s unjustifiable stand with terrorists based in Pakistan.

Following the horrific terrorist attack in Pulawama that claimed the lives of more than 40 Indian army personals on February 14, 2019, Pakistan based terror group JeM led by Masood Azhar took the responsibility of the attack. This year again, China blocked India’s bid to list Masood Azhar as a global terrorist at the United Nations Security Council.

According to the NDTV report, a tweet by a senior Pakistani journalist in which he likened Tibetan leader Dalai Lama with terrorist Masood Azhar has triggered a storm on Twitter, with users slamming him for the remark. Referring to China blocking India and other nations from listing Masood as a global terrorist, the journalist retweeted a decade old news article whose headline described the Tibetan leader as a “terrorist”.

“It’s very easy to understand why China blocked resolution against Masood Azhar in UNSC? India sheltering an enemy of China since decades and his name is Dalai Lama,” Hamid Mir tweeted.

The Pakistan journalist refers to His Holiness Dalai Lama’s exile in India during the Tibetan uprising of 1959 following which the Noel Peace Prize laureate took refugee here. His Holiness is a known all over over the world as a beacon of peace and a messenger of hope. Such an unjustifiable comparison outraged the Twitterati, resulting to a storm of tweets slamming Pakistan and China. People in India also carried out rallies calling for the complete boycott of all the Chinese merchandises in the country for backing the Pakistan based terrorist.
