A Tibetan Woman Killed, Over 10 Injured in a Bus Mishap

A Tibetan woman travelling in a private passenger bus was killed in a tragic incident where the bus overturned in a mishap on Tuesday morning and it occurred near Hubbali in Karnataka, India. Mundgod Tibetan settlement, one of the largest Tibetan refugee settlements in India is the destination for most of Tibetans travelling through Hubbali.

“A Tibetan woman was killed and over ten persons sustained injuries after the long route bus they were travelling in overturned near Hubballi on Tuesday morning.” said the report in The Hindu on Tuesday.

Lobsang Dolma, 32 who suffered serious injuries from the accident succumbed to injuries at the KIMS Hospital and passed away there. Besides her, over 10 people have been injured from the mishap and one of them is the was accompanying the deceased during the journey. The deceased is a resident of camp 4 at the Tibetan refugee settlement in Mundgod.

The private bus of Vijayanand Road lines was carrying passengers from Bengaluru to Hubballi and mishap occurred at Agadi Cross near Hubballi after the driver reportedly lost control over the bus and the bus overturned according to the report.
