According to the announcement made by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration on Monday, the government of Himachal Pradesh state now provides a total of five MBBS seats reserved for Tibetan students. Tibetan students now have a total of 6 MBBS seats reserved, including the one allocated by the Central Tibetan Schools Administration (CTSA), New Delhi.
“The Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, is pleased to announce that the State Government of Himachal Pradesh has graciously granted one more MBBS reserve seat for Tibetan Refugee students effective academic year 2018. The state government is already providing four MBBS reserve seats for Tibetan students since last year, which means the state government will provide a total of five reserve seats for Tibetans students from this year.” said the official report in the website of Central Tibetan Administration on Monday.
The HP government allotted reserved seats one each at Dr. Y.S. Parmar Govt. Medical College, Nahan and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Govt. Medical College, Chamba in July last year in addition to the previously allotted reserve seats at Indra Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) Shimla and the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Govt. Medical College (RPGMC), Tanda.
According to the announcement, the state government is going to allot the fifth MBBS reserve seat at the Dr. Radha Krishna Govt Medical College (RKGMC), Hamirpur from this year. This accounts to a total tally of 26 reserved seats under the administration of Department of Education, CTA for the Tibetan students to study various subjects including 7 engineers courses across India.
