Rumors on Dalai Lama’s Deteriorating Health Appear Online

According to a leading online news agency, The Quint, an exclusive news report on Monday states that according to credible sources, the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama is terminally ill; suffering from a serious ailment that has reached into the advance stages. However, the Central Tibetan Administration has rubbished the news reports about his health.

“While the Tibetan administration has been trying to withhold information about the Dalai Lama’s health status, intelligence reports corroborate the tell-tale signs. The Dalai Lama’s first trip to the Mayo Clinic in the United States over two years ago was the first hint that he was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer there. His frequent visits to the Mayo Clinic since were enough for the Indian establishment to dig out the reason behind such trips.” said the report in the Quint on Monday.

Tsering Dhondup of Tibetan Policy Institute quoted in the report that the Dalai Lama’s health is not a matter of concern, His Holiness is healthy. In fact, he’s set to make a trip abroad. Besides, His Holiness himself has been assuring the general public of the fact that he is health after going through medical check ups and it is only a matter of him suffering from exhaustion in making trips according the world, in contrary to the report claiming his deteriorating health led to the cancellations of his foreign trips.

While the report raised questions over the Tibetan spiritual leader’s recent public appearances which involved His Holiness taking unsteady steps, and walking with assistance from several aides, it also raised that the crucial question, “Why are the Tibetans in exile in India celebrating ‘60 years in exile’ in 2018, instead of 2019 when they actually complete 60 years?”
